He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sickness. I now understand why we missed you this year. I see the Lord has you in the valley of Baca digging wells. I remember that valley. You have dug so many wells through your journey you have surely refreshed many. I will be joining you in prayer through this new path He has you on. These are two verses that He made real to me when the odds were against me. Nahum 1:7 says The LORD is Good (never forget that) , A stronghold in the day of trouble, And He knows those who take refuge in Him. And when I needed reminded of whose hands my time on earth was in He gave me Psalm 31:15. What a great hope we have. I watched your latest video and you are definitely being used to show the way for the next person, the next generation. There are many prayers being said for you. God our Father loves you and is keeping you. My prayer is that as He walks with you, you will feel His peace no matter the adversities that may come. May He strengthen you in the inner man, your soul. Remember in the hard times that Jesus paid for you with His blood. You are His. He holds you in His hands. May the Lord continually keep a song in your heart and may the medical team see Jesus shining through you. In His name we pray. I praise God for the medical care you have access to, and the hope you have received in the possibility of this latest therapy. May the Lord be praised for how you please Him with your praise of Him for the cancer – you are truly giving thanks to God in all circumstances, obeying His word and glorifying Him. May He give you strength through this gene therapy, and may He enable you to be salt and light with each person you encounter, and may He pour out His peace and comfort on you every moment of every day, and His healing on your body. May He bless your spirit with tranquility. In the glorious name of Jesus Christ, Amen. Your sister in Christ, Linda Log in to Reply Angelique Dozier says: May 3, 2013 at 9:38 am Our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased – Psalm 115:3 To say that God is sovereign is just another way of saying that God is God. God has the right to do as he pleases. He is in charge, he is working his will and accomplishing his purposes. Recognizing the truth of sovereignty gives us the right view of the character of God. He has power over all (Psalm 99:1). He is holy and just (Isaiah 6:1-7). All things are for his glory (Revelation 4:11). God is not frustrated or disappointed, as he is sometimes represented, but is working all things after the counsel of his own will (Ephesians 1:11). This truth provides a great sense of security and hope for his people. They see that no vicious enemy, no catastrophic event, no unexpected trial can affect God’s sovereign reign. As Psalm 46 declares, even if the earth was removed or the mountains carried into the sea, God is a refuge for his people. And they are further assured that what may be a long night of affliction can be turned into brightness as the heavenly Father teaches his children in their time of trouble. God’s sovereignty gives assurance in salvation. We see that human merit or mere human choice is not the basis of salvation; rather, it is all of grace originating with God’s choice, being based on the death of his Son, and ultimately consummated because of his effectual work. What peace comes by resting our case in the hands of Jesus, knowing he is King of kings and Lord of lords. Understanding the truth of sovereignty will evoke praise to his great name because we recognize all glory belongs to him. Our God is in the heavens! Log in to Reply B Hostetter says: November 10, 2011 at 12:44 pm From the book Battlefield of the Mind Devotional by Joyce Meyer. It’s often difficult to believe God and hold on year after year after year. Sometimes after my meetings, people come to me and tell me many sad stories. I encourage them to become positive and upbeat. Some people will listen to every word I say, nod, maybe even smile, and then they say the most negative word of all: “But . . .” With that single word, they are negating everything I’ve said. That’s not the spirit of Abraham. The Bible gives us promises, hope, and encouragement. God promises good to those of us who serve Him. Despite the adversity of our circumstances—and some people have absolutely terrible situations—God still promises good. Our sense of goodness, however, may not be the same as God’s. Getting what we want immediately may not be best for us. Sometimes waiting is the best thing because it helps develop the character of God in us. The Lord chooses to do good to us and to make us happy; the devil chooses to do wrong and to make us miserable. We can remain patient and keep believing God’s promises, or we can allow the evil one’s whisper to fill our ears and lead us astray. Too many of us have ignored the fact that God is the originator of miracles. He specializes in doing the impossible: He provided a son to barren Sarah; He opened the Red Sea for the Israelites to walk across on dry land; He destroyed Goliath with a single stone from a slingshot. Those are miracles. That’s the Holy Spirit at work, defying the laws of nature (He made the laws, so He can break them). Hebrews 11 is a chapter about faith and the people of God who dared to believe the promises. But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out] (v. 6). As I consider that verse, I can see how the devil creeps in. He says to us, “Yes, that’s true. Those were special people. You are nobody. God won’t do anything special for you. Why should He?” That is a satanic lie—and one that too many easily accept. God loves each of us, and the Bible says He’s our Father. Any good father loves to do good things for his children. God wants to do good things for you and for me. Expect a miracle in your life. Expect many miracles. Positive belief in God’s promises yields good results because the Good One sends them to us. Refuse to give up, and you will see the result of your positive belief. Dear Father in heaven, forgive my lack of belief. Forgive me for allowing Satan to deceive me or make me think I’m worthless or unworthy of Your miracles. I am worthy because You made me worthy. You are the God of the impossible, and I ask You to help me wait on You and never give up. In the name of Jesus Christ my Lord, I pray. Amen. Have a blessed day. Betty Log in to Reply B Hostetter says: November 9, 2011 at 9:57 am Good Morning Dr. Hope you are feeling well today. The following is a scripture meditation for today. Psalms 107 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, 3 And gathered out of the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south. 4 They wandered in the wilderness in a desolate way; They found no city to dwell in. 5 Hungry and thirsty, Their soul fainted in them. 6 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He delivered them out of their distresses. 7 And He led them forth by the right way, That they might go to a city for a dwelling place. 8 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! 9 For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness. 10 Those who sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, Bound in affliction and irons- 11 Because they rebelled against the words of God, And despised the counsel of the Most High, 12 Therefore He brought down their heart with labor; They fell down, and there was none to help. 13 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. 14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, And broke their chains in pieces. 15 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! 16 For He has broken the gates of bronze, And cut the bars of iron in two. 17 Fools, because of their transgression, And because of their iniquities, were afflicted. 18 Their soul abhorred all manner of food, And they drew near to the gates of death. 19 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. 20 He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions. 21 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! 22 Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, And declare His works with rejoicing. 23 Those who go down to the sea in ships, Who do business on great waters, 24 They see the works of the Lord, And His wonders in the deep. 25 For He commands and raises the stormy wind, Which lifts up the waves of the sea. 26 They mount up to the heavens, They go down again to the depths; Their soul melts because of trouble. 27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, And are at their wits’ end. 28 Then they cry out to the Lord in their trouble, And He brings them out of their distresses. 29 He calms the storm, So that its waves are still. 30 Then they are glad because they are quiet; So He guides them to their desired haven. 31 Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! 32 Let them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people, And praise Him in the company of the elders. 33 He turns rivers into a wilderness, And the watersprings into dry ground; 34 A fruitful land into barrenness, For the wickedness of those who dwell in it. 35 He turns a wilderness into pools of water, And dry land into watersprings. 36 There He makes the hungry dwell, That they may establish a city for a dwelling place, 37 And sow fields and plant vineyards, That they may yield a fruitful harvest. 38 He also blesses them, and they multiply greatly; And He does not let their cattle decrease. 39 When they are diminished and brought low Through oppression, affliction and sorrow, 40 He pours contempt on princes, And causes them to wander in the wilderness where there is no way; 41 Yet He sets the poor on high, far from affliction, And makes their families like a flock. 42 The righteous see it and rejoice, And all iniquity stops its mouth. 43 Whoever is wise will observe these things, And they will understand the lovingkindness of the Lord. Sometimes rainy days are really good days to reflect on our past and our future. How are you doing with reading the book “Heaven” that I brought to you? I know that Heaven is going to be a wonderful place that we can look forward to living out eternity with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Won’t it be wonderful to be able to look Him in the eyes and feel all the comfort and joy that is possible. My scripture reading for today is Joshua 24:15: But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. BUT as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord. When reading this it brought to mind that we are taught that anything said before the word BUT is used is a lie and should be deleted and the truth follows the word BUT………it is true Our God and Lord Jesus Christ is the almighty healer and the great physician.
